A Muslim woman, mother, immigrant, and founder of Rooted in Deen
Helping Muslim women strengthen their faith, nurture their families, and build intentional lives rooted in Allah’s guidance.
My Journey
I was born and raised in Burundi, where faith was a part of everyday life, though not always deeply practiced. As a young girl, I was blessed to meet Muslim sisters who encouraged me to stay connected to my deen and planted seeds that would continue to grow throughout my life.
Years later, I moved to Canada in search of opportunity and a brighter future. Like many immigrants, I faced the challenges of adapting to a new culture while trying to hold on to my identity and faith. Over time, I found myself drifting from some of the values I wanted to uphold, even while continuing to pray and wear hijab.
Marriage and motherhood changed my perspective. As I raised my children, I began to realize how much guidance Islam offers for every aspect of life and how much I still wanted to learn. During my second pregnancy, an unexpected break from work gave me the opportunity to return to the Quran, seek knowledge, and reconnect with my faith more deeply.
That journey eventually led to the creation of Rooted in Deen—a space dedicated to helping Muslim women strengthen their faith, nurture their families, and build intentional lives rooted in Allah’s guidance.
Why Rooted in Deen?

A tree can only flourish when its roots are strong.
Throughout my life—from growing up in Burundi to moving to Canada to navigating motherhood and personal challenges—I have learned that the same holds true for us. When our faith is strong, it becomes the foundation that supports every part of our lives.
There were seasons when I felt overwhelmed, distracted, and disconnected from what truly mattered. Yet every time I returned to Allah and His guidance, I found clarity, purpose, and peace.
Rooted in Deen was born from that realization.
This space exists to encourage Muslim women to strengthen their relationship with Allah, nurture their families with intention, and continue growing through every season of life. Because when we are rooted in deen, we are better equipped to face life’s challenges and embrace its blessings.

This space was created for women like us—women who want to grow closer to Allah while navigating the realities of everyday life.
